Description

Our client in the education Industry in Nairobi County is urgently looking to recruit a competent Driver responsible for Picking up learners as advised on established routes and dropping them off at school and designated homes. Ensure a safe environment within the bus by obeying, and enforcing all laws, regulations, and rules of conduct.

Requirements

  1. Transporting pupils to and from school, to school activities and school trips.      
  2. Reporting delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or other methods of communication.
  3. Complying with traffic regulations to operate vehicles safely and courteously. (Observing speed limits and obeying road signs)
  4. Following safety rules as learners are boarding and exiting buses, and as they cross streets near bus stops.
  5. Picking up and dropping off learners at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, following strict time schedules.
  6. Ensure safety in driving by avoiding dents, scratching, and any accident towards the bus/van, and if liable, the driver will be held accountable.
  7. Accommodating special needs children by helping them get on and off the vehicle with equipment like a wheelchair, walker, or arm and leg braces among others.
  8. Conduct pre-visits to new pupils’ homes and to those who have relocated to determine accessibility and pick-up times.
  9. Ensure that the driving license remains valid with all relevant endorsements.
  10. Keeping track of important school vehicle requirements and notifying the transport coordinator at least 2 weeks before they are due to expire; this includes insurance, inspection, TLB, and any other emerging regulations.
  11. Reporting any bus malfunctions or needed repairs as per the transport department.
  12. Checking the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment and ensuring that everything is working.

Qualifications

  1. Valid Driving License
  2. Valid PSV Badge
  3. A valid certificate of good conduct
  4. Computer Skills
  5. Excellent Customer care skills
