Description
Our client in the education Industry in Nairobi County is urgently looking to recruit a competent Finance Officer who will be responsible for budgetary control and management to ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources in line with institutional financial management policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Budget Planning & Coordination: Oversee the preparation, planning, and execution of the institution’s budgetary processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to institutional financial regulations, policies, and relevant statutory requirements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports, including annual budget execution reports, quarterly financial statements, and program/operational budget reports.
- Expenditure Monitoring & Control: Track and regulate expenditures to ensure they remain within the approved budget.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure the availability of adequate financial resources to support the school’s programs and activities.
- Strategic Financial Advisory: Provide expert guidance on financial management matters to support informed decision-making.
- Annual Budget Preparation: Collaborate with user departments to develop the school’s annual budget and submit expenditure returns.
- Cash Flow Management: Prepare annual cash flow projections to guide financial planning.
- Profit & Loss Analysis: Develop and present termly profit and loss projections annually.
- Budget Tracking & Reporting: Conduct monthly reviews of departmental budgets and provide reports on financial performance.
- Financial System Integrity: Ensure financial systems are well-structured, effectively operated, and compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other professional and regulatory guidelines.
- Audit Coordination: Work closely with internal and external auditors, facilitating audits and maintaining strong professional relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting
- CPA K / ACCA.
- A valid certificate of good conduct
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
- Knowledge of QuickBooks will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of the IFRS and Tax Management under Kenyan tax laws
