Description

Our client in the education Industry in Nairobi County is urgently looking to recruit a competent Finance Officer who will be responsible for budgetary control and management to ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources in line with institutional financial management policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. Budget Planning & Coordination: Oversee the preparation, planning, and execution of the institution’s budgetary processes.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to institutional financial regulations, policies, and relevant statutory requirements.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports, including annual budget execution reports, quarterly financial statements, and program/operational budget reports.
  4. Expenditure Monitoring & Control: Track and regulate expenditures to ensure they remain within the approved budget.
  5. Resource Allocation: Ensure the availability of adequate financial resources to support the school’s programs and activities.
  6. Strategic Financial Advisory: Provide expert guidance on financial management matters to support informed decision-making.
  7. Annual Budget Preparation: Collaborate with user departments to develop the school’s annual budget and submit expenditure returns.
  8. Cash Flow Management: Prepare annual cash flow projections to guide financial planning.
  9. Profit & Loss Analysis: Develop and present termly profit and loss projections annually.
  10. Budget Tracking & Reporting: Conduct monthly reviews of departmental budgets and provide reports on financial performance.
  11. Financial System Integrity: Ensure financial systems are well-structured, effectively operated, and compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other professional and regulatory guidelines.
  12. Audit Coordination: Work closely with internal and external auditors, facilitating audits and maintaining strong professional relationships.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accounting
  2. CPA K / ACCA.
  3. A valid certificate of good conduct
  4. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
  5. Knowledge of QuickBooks will be an advantage
  6. Good knowledge of the IFRS and Tax Management under Kenyan tax laws
