Procurement Officer – Aurum Consultants

Our client in the education sector based in Kiserian, Kajiado County is looking to fill the above position. The candidate will be responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and overall procurement of goods and services for the School while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Source and identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent service and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure a smooth requisition process within set timelines.
• Work closely with the storekeeper to manage inventory for timely deliveries and cost efficiency.
• Regularly evaluate supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Adhere to School policies, regulations, and legal procurement requirements.
• Prepare weekly procurement reports for the Head of Finance.
• Oversee stock control processes to prevent shortages, wastage, and overstocking.
• Promote optimization of resources through cost-effective purchasing and efficient
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
• Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with inventory or ERP systems is a plus.

Professional Qualifications (Preferred):

• Certified Procurement Professional (e.g., KISM, CIPS).
• Training in tendering, contract management, or supply chain management.
