JUNIOR SCHOOL TEACHER (MATHS, PRE TECHNICAL & INTEGRATED SCIENCE) – Aurum Consultants

Our client, a Christian school in the education sector, is seeking a qualified Junior Secondary Teacher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics, Integrated Science and Pre-Technical Studies at the junior secondary school level

Responsibilities:

1. Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Pre-Technical Studies in accordance with the approved curriculum.
2. Develop subject-specific schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional materials to support effective teaching and learning.
3. Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning styles and academic needs of learners across the three subjects.
4. Collaborate with fellow subject teachers and the curriculum coordinator to plan and implement interdisciplinary projects and assessments.
5. Provide clear explanations of concepts, practical demonstrations, and real-life applications particularly in Pre-Technical and Science lessons, to enhance learners' understanding and interest.
6. Maintain learners’ engagement and discipline during Mathematics, Science, and Pre-Tech classes, creating a positive and productive classroom environment.
7. Assign, mark, and provide timely feedback on learners' classwork, homework, and tests across the three subjects.
8. Prepare learners for internal and external assessments by providing adequate practice, revision, and support in each subject area.
9. Monitor learners’ academic progress in each subject and provide individualized support where needed.
10. Participate in subject-related co-curricular activities, school science fairs, math competitions, and practical workshops as required.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education, with subject specialization
2. 5 years’ relevant experience
3. TSC Registration
4. Valid certificate of good conduct.
