SENIOR DRIVER at KENIA

(a) Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

1. Driving vehicles as authorized;
2. Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
3. Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles;
4. Recognizing and reporting mechanical defaults of the vehicles;
5. Carrying out minor mechanical adjustments;
6. Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles;
7. Preparing and submitting reports on transport;
8. Ensuring security and safety of passengers and vehicle on and off the road;
9. Ensuring proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle;
10. Ensuring adherence to or observations of traffic laws; and
11. Ensuring reporting of any incidents to police and/or the office immediately they occur.

(b) Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Served for a cumulative period of six (6) years’ work experience three (3) years should have been in the grade of Driver I or in a comparable position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
• Minimum KCSE D+ (Plus) or its equivalent
• Occupational Trade Test I Certificate;
• Valid driving license category C and D free from any current endorsements;
• A defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other recognized Institution;
• A valid Certificate of Good Conduct;
• A First Aid Certificate course from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized Institution not more than one (1) year old; and
• Proficiency in computer applications
