General Manager, Finance, KGN 2 at KenGen

1. Develop and oversee strategic initiatives and Service Level Agreements for Finance
2. Manage financing needs by establishing optimal funding structures.
3. Oversee financial reporting to ensure compliance with regulations.
4. Guide budgeting processes and ensure adherence to financial covenants.
5. Provide accurate cost data to support cost reduction and tariff decisions.
6. Submit periodic departmental and government reports for decision-making.
7. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
8. Approve departmental procurement requests in line with regulations.
9. Establish and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
10. Lead policy development to improve operational efficiency.
11. Oversee staff performance, motivation, training, and development.

Person Specifications

1. At least 15 years’ experience in finance management, 5 (Five)  of which should be at Senior Management level in a large organization.
2. Master’s degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
3. Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Accounting/Finance), Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent.
4. Professional Certification: CPA Part III, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent.
5. Registration: Member of ICPAK or relevant professional body.
6. Leadership course (minimum 4 weeks) from a recognized institution.
7. Strong knowledge of public financial management policies and regulations.
8. Meets Chapter Six constitutional requirements.
