Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Accounting Expert to provide accurate information for financial reporting and have good understanding of processes within own area of responsibility. Works independently within established procedures and practices. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

What you will do
  • Perform accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards
  •  Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and accounting statements, prepare adhoc information: Independently take discussions with external/internal stakeholders.
  • Reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules.
  • Provide technical accounting advice within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers
  • Drive process improvements and functional KPIs
  • Independently take discussions about standard issues with external/internal stakeholders
We believe you have
    • Bachelor of Commerce in Finance/Accounting or any other related degree.
    • Chartered member of Institute of Charted Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or CPA(K).
    • 5 years’ experience as an Accountant
    • Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
    • Fluent in English
    • Good interpersonal skills & excellent team player
    • Self-driven to deliver results independently
    • Detailed & result oriented
    • Practical Knowledge of IFRS / Local GAAP.
    • Good knowledge of statutory regulations and tax matters
