About me
I am a highly competent and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with a First Class Honours degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Nairobi, bringing hands-on experience in cost estimation, tender documentation, and contract administration across diverse building and civil projects. Having previously worked as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Jinsing Enterprises East Africa Limited, I was actively involved in cost control, project coordination, and site supervision for commercial, industrial, and institutional developments, including offices, warehouses, hospital renovations, and partitioning works. I am proficient in preparing Bills of Quantities, conducting site measurements, interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, and ensuring full compliance with Kenyan and British Standards. I possess strong skills in feasibility studies, budgeting, and value engineering, and I continue to apply a professional, analytical, and proactive approach to every project phase — ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality delivery in my current professional practice as a Quantity Surveyor.

MPSHA HOSPITAL
I participated in the renovation and upgrading works of Mpsha Hospital, a Ministry of Health project executed under Madhir Limited. The project involved the refurbishment of existing hospital wards, outpatient areas, staff facilities, and service installations to meet modern healthcare standards. Key Responsibilities and Contributions: Assisted in the preparation and adjustment of Bills of Quantities for renovation and alteration works. Carried out site measurements and valuation of variations resulting from design adjustments and unforeseen site conditions. Supported in the verification of materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Health specifications and Kenyan Standard Codes of Practice. Collaborated closely with site engineers, architects, and the main contractor to interpret drawings and specifications accurately within a renovation context. Monitored progress and cost control, preparing interim payment certificates and ensuring proper documentation of work done. Ensured that safety and hygiene protocols were observed, given the operational nature of the healthcare environment during renovation. This project strengthened my experience in renovation works, cost adjustments, and on-site coordination for sensitive institutional facilities, emphasizing adaptability, precision, and effective teamwork.

Project: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Infrastructure Works – Kasarani Corridor Client: Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) Main Contractor: Jinsing Enterprises East Africa Limited Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor I was part of the construction and infrastructure enhancement works for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system along the Kasarani corridor, a major component of Nairobi’s sustainable urban transport improvement program. The project aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving public mobility through the development of modern, dedicated BRT lanes and supporting facilities. Key Responsibilities and Contributions: Assisted in the preparation and review of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and cost estimates for civil and structural works, including bus lanes, platforms, drainage systems, and pedestrian walkways. Conducted on-site measurements and supported in the valuation of works done and preparation of interim payment certificates. Collaborated with site engineers and surveyors to verify quantities and materials for concrete works, kerbs, culverts, stormwater channels, and road finishes. Participated in cost tracking, progress reporting, and variation analysis to ensure alignment with budget and schedule targets. Ensured compliance with KURA standards and safety requirements, especially in areas adjacent to active traffic flow. Supported in coordination between the technical team, consultants, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth execution of works. Through this project, I gained practical exposure to large-scale infrastructure construction, transport engineering works, and urban road development, sharpening my technical and cost management skills in complex civil projects.
