Description

The Hazardous Waste Producer Responsibility Organization of Kenya (HAPROK) – a Packaging for hazardous waste, which is an affiliate of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, is seeking to competitively fill the following position:

Designation: Membership Intern
Report to: HAPROK Coordinator
Contract Type: 6 Months
Location: Nairobi

Job Purpose:
The role is responsible for supporting membership growth, recruitment, and engagement within HAPROK as a business membership organization. The Membership Intern will actively contribute to outreach initiatives, member acquisition
activities, and communication efforts aimed at expanding and strengthening the HAPROK membership base.

Key objectives:
▪ Support recruitment of new members.
▪ Contribute to measurable growth in membership numbers.
▪ Enhance visibility of HAPROK among potential industry members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your specific duties will include and not limited to the following:
i. Support the identification and mapping of potential member companies within the sector.
ii. Participate in outreach activities, including calls, emails, and physical visits to prospective members.
iii. Present the HAPROK membership value proposition to potential members.
iv. Follow up on leads and track recruitment progress.
v. Assist in organizing member engagement meetings and networking forums.
vi. Prepare marketing materials and membership briefs.
vii. Maintain and update membership recruitment tracking reports.
viii. Support social media and digital communication efforts aimed at attracting new members.
ix. Assist in onboarding new members and ensuring smooth registration documentation.
x. Perform any other duties assigned by the HAPROK Coordinator from time to time.

Requirements:
Education
▪ Bachelor’s degree (or pursuing) in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.

Personal Attributes and Skills
▪ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
▪ Strong interest in marketing and business development.
▪ Confident communication and persuasion skills.
▪ Ability to engage potential members professionally.
▪ Good networking ability.
▪ Basic understanding of sales or membership recruitment processes.
▪ Self-driven and target oriented.
▪ Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
▪ Willingness to undertake field visits.
