We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an AI Intern within Jubilee Life Insurance Limited. The position holder will report to the Head of Data and will be based at our Main Office.

Role Purpose
The Junior AI Engineer Intern will support the AI & Machine Learning team in developing, testing, and deploying AI solutions using Google Cloud Platform's Vertex AI. This role provides hands-on experience in building production-ready AI systems, working with large language models, and contributing to realworld insurance technology projects. The intern will learn industry best practices in MLOps, model deployment, and AI engineering while working under the guidance of senior engineers.

Main Responsibilities
Strategy
1. Support the implementation of AI and digital innovation initiatives aligned to business objectives.
2. Contribute to research on emerging AI trends, tools, and technologies to support continuous improvement.

Operational
1. Assist in the development and testing of AI features using Vertex AI Agent Builder.
2. Support data preparation, cleaning, and preprocessing for machine learning models.
3. Contribute to the implementation and testing of prompt engineering strategies for LLM applications.
4. Support the development and maintenance of knowledge bases and RAG systems.
5. Assist in model evaluation, testing, and performance monitoring.
6. Support integration testing and quality assurance processes.

Corporate Governance
1. Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards in all AI development activities.
2. Maintain proper documentation of code, processes, and technical implementations.

People and Culture
1. Collaborate with team members to deliver assigned project tasks.
2. Participate in team meetings, stand-ups, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
3. Demonstrate continuous learning and application of new technologies and best practices

Academic Qualifications and Relevant Experience
1. 0-1 year of experience (internships, academic projects, or personal projects)
2. Academic projects involving machine learning or data analysis
3. Personal projects demonstrating AI/ML skills (GitHub portfolio preferred)
4. Previous internship experience in software development or data science (advantageous)
5. Participation in hackathons, coding competitions, or AI challenges (preferred)
6. Contributions to open-source projects (advantageous)
7. Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud services (preferred but not required)
8. Demonstrated interest in AI through online courses, certifications, or self-learning
9. Any exposure to insurance, healthcare, or financial services domain (advantageous)
