Job Description

Primary Purpose and Scope the Job (Job Role)-

To welcome, sit, take & serve food and beverage orders to our guests in a friendly, timely manner and ensure  a clean environment in accordance to Java service standards

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Presenting a variety of menu options and take lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences.
  • Handling customer interactions at various levels of customer touch points.
  • Assist the guest navigate through the menu comfortably- Inform guests of menu changes, daily specials and assist the guest navigate through the menu comfortably.
  • Taking orders and delivering them to the table neatly and accurately in accordance to the ticket specification.
  • Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service respond promptly and courteously to address any guest concern ¬ify the manager.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Ensuring there is enough change at all times.
  • Maintaining shift float money and ensuring no shortages.
  • Timely closure of counter variances.
  • Taking care of counter machines.
  • Present bills on time and accept payment.
  • Ordering of items in Vuka for the store.
  • Receiving of items from Food scape/ any other supplier.
  • Keying in of orders in the POS.
  • Receiving orders from the aggregator tabs
  • Packing and dispatching the orders to the guests
  • Table clearance and clean counters after guests have finished dining.
  • Ensure general cleaning of the restaurant is done and the highest hygiene standards are upheld.
  • Communicating any R&M or IT issues to the Area Manager.
  • Closing duties of the branch.

  • Meet, greet and sit guests in a timely manner.
  • Taking food and beverage orders from customers and ensure prompt service delivery.
  • Cleaning, clearing and organizing table condiments.
  • Presenting bills and give back correct change to the guest within the shortest time possible.
  • Assist guests on easy menu navigation.
  • Attend to the tables and guarantee compliance to cleanliness standards.
  • Check the quality of the final servings and resolve any issues accordingly based on recommended food and beverage standards.
  • Proper utilization of company resources.
  • Ensure accurate stock take.
  • Communication-attend shift briefings, communicate cautiously to the guest.
  • Ensure necessary orders for proper mis-en place are given to the manager for ordering.
  • Adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
  • Ability to up sell and inform our guest on new menu product.

  • Should have inter-personal skills.
  • Flexible and accommodative.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Should have a sound menu and product knowledge.
  • Should have a KCSE certificate mean grade of C plain.
  • Should have been in the company for at least six months or have equivalent skills from a food and beverage set up.
