| Job Description | Job Purpose To provide professional counseling services and coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of guidance and counseling programs to promote mental wellness and support staff well-being within the Hospital. Duties and responsibilities Reporting to the Deputy Director, Human Resource Management and Development, the position holder will be responsible for the following:
i. Delivering professional counseling services to staff and offering psychological support as needed. ii. Coordinating the implementation and review of counseling policies, procedures, and standards. iii. Developing and implementing guidance and counseling projects and programs across the hospital. iv. Designing strategies for psychological interventions to address staff mental health needs. v. Monitoring and evaluating counseling programs and preparing reports for management. vi. Maintaining accurate and confidential records related to counseling services. vii. Organizing sessions, seminars, and workshops on mental health and wellness in collaboration with the mental health department. viii. Planning and budgeting for counseling activities and programs. ix. Any other duty as may be assigned. |
| Job Specification | Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements i. Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. ii. At least six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Counsellor I or in a comparable position. iii. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks. iv. Registration by the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA). v. Proficiency in computer applications. vi. Compliance with Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. Core Competencies i. Strong planning and organizational skills abilities. ii. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. iii. Responsive, prompt, and effective provision of services. iv. Ability to monitor mental wellness programs effectively. v. High standards of professional ethics and confidentiality.
Terms of Service The successful candidate will be engaged on permanent & pensionable terms. |
