ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily front of the house and back of the house restaurant operations
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Organize and supervise shifts
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience
  • Develop strategies for improving our customer’s dining experience
  • Ensure proper stock levels for all restaurant supplies such as serviettes and packaging materials
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
  • Work with the head chef to maintain high-quality food standards
  • Ensure the team maintains high levels of cleanliness and hygiene both in the restaurant and personal
  • Is consistently well groomed and neat and keeps clean and tidy working stations areas
  • Contribute towards the achievement of organization KPIs with an objective of hitting and surpassing target
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Must be computer literate with excellent reporting skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Food and Beverage service.
  • Highly conversant with HACCP regulations as well as safety policies
  • Knowledge in planning, budgeting, forecasting and management of costs
  • Be conversant with advanced principles of food and beverage management, revenue management and cost control
  • People Management skills
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Familiarity with hospitality software systems.
  • Acute financial management skills
